CC Africa - The ultimate luxury safari experience in Africa

CC Africa is Africa’s leading ecotourism company, committed to providing world-class experiences for discerning travellers, and to ongoing investment in sustainable conservation development and community empowerment.

We own and operate more than 45 exceptional safari lodges and camps in the wilderness highspots of South, Southern and East Africa – Kruger National Park, Sabi Sand Game Reserve, Mpumalanga, Zululand, Great Fish River, Madikwe Game Reserve, Masai Mara National Reserve, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park, Okavango Delta, Namib Desert, Victoria Falls and Zanzibar. CC Africa employs 2 500 people, the majority coming from rural communities.
We also operate Walking and Specialist Safaris, and CC Africa Expeditions ( luxury camping safaris), as well as customised travel services in 16 African countries (South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Mauritius, Seychelles and Madagascar), and now in India, too.

CC Africa’s pioneering ecotourism model recognises that economic development of the areas in which we operate is crucial to the maintenance of biodiversity. We also acknowledge that much of Africa’s wildlife heritage and land is influenced or owned by local communities. Our model – successfully implemented throughout our operations in Africa – links international high net worth, low volume/low impact discerning guests to these wilderness areas and the resident communities who directly benefit from the resultant revenues of ecotourism and conservation.
We offer an Africa of vast, wild spaces and unparalleled sophistication, embraced by our commitment – Care of the Land, Care of the Wildlife, Care of the People – for which we have received worldwide recognition.

Our guest experience revolves around the ancient drama of Africa’s great wildlife spectacle – a natural theatre to which people are drawn time and again. It begins at any one of our intimate safari camps, located in Africa’s most exclusive wildlife highspots. In East Africa, we have created the most awe-inspiring safari circuit on the continent along the route of one of nature’s most poignant phenomena, the Great Migration of hundreds of thousands of herbivores across the mighty Serengeti in Tanzania into Kenya’s Masai Mara.
This is complemented by our Mnemba Island Lodge, located just off the shores of Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean. In Southern Africa, many of our camps are in areas previously degraded by farming and hunting and now, due to our conservation initiatives, are abundant with wild animals.

Our passionate belief in the Care of the Land, Care of the Wildlife, Care of the People is evident in everything that we do in the field, and this is constantly communicated to our guests. Through physically demonstrating our commitment to conservation and community development, our guests see with their own eyes how, by choosing a CC Africa destination, their travel money is used for positive benefit. We believe that, from then on, they would ensure that their future travel choices should make a difference, both environmentally and socially.

CC Africa Africa Foundation
CC Africa founded Africa Foundation in 1992 to facilitate our commitment to empowering communities through conservation. As an independently registered, not-for-profit organisation, Africa Foundation’s primary focus is on Education, Health Care and Income Generation development in communities adjacent to CC Africa’s conservation areas. Together with CC Africa and the generous support of its guests, and through a rigorous process of consultation with the communities, Africa Foundation has implemented a range of projects that deliver meaningful benefits to rural communities across Africa. The Foundation’s achievements over the past 16 years include:
  • Applied over USD 6 million to projects in the 6 African countries in which CC Africa operates
  • Built more than 130 classrooms and 20 preschools, thereby strengthening school infrastructure and governance
  • Increased environmental awareness in over 6 000 school children and 300 teachers through our Conservation Lessons programme across all of CC Africa’s lodges
  • Awarded university level scholarships to more than 200 students through our Community Leaders Education Fund (CLEF) programme
  • Collaborated with local government departments to build 3 clinics – one of which, the Mduku Clinic outside Phinda Private Game Reserve, is open 24 hours a day and serves a community of over 11 000 people. The Ololosokwan Clinic close to Klein’s Camp in Tanzania provides primary health care for up to 350 people per week
  • Implemented access-to-water projects, such as rainwater harvesting and reticulation schemes, at numerous schools
  • Supplied over 5 000 hippo water rollers to rural families improving the quality of the lives of women and children specifically, who are traditionally tasked with water collection
  • Led HIV/AIDS initiatives and opened a Skills and Health Centre near Phinda Private Game Reserve which have helped and will continue to transform hundreds of people’s lives
  • Established a Digital Eco-Village project to “bridge the digital divide” near Phinda (to date, over 200 community members have received accredited computer training)
  • Gained world-class community development skills, an extensive knowledge base and expertise
  • Built a reputation internationally and nationally for facilitating effective and sustainable community development initiatives
